Re:Spectacles.
Re:Spectacles is a Cape Town reading glasses range that wanted to feel less like a pharmacy shelf and more like a considered object. Sorted built the full picture: the identity, the packaging it arrives in, and the space it is sold from.
The brief.
Re:Spectacles set out to make reading glasses people would actually want on the table, not hidden in a drawer. The brief was simple to say and hard to do: take an everyday, slightly clinical product and give it the character of something you would choose on purpose.
We started with the identity. The name plays on a second look, so the mark and wordmark were built around clarity and a little wit, a system that reads instantly at small sizes and still holds its own blown up large. It had to sit comfortably on a temple arm, a case, and a shopfront without changing its personality.
The packaging carried the idea into the hand. Every box, sleeve, and case was designed to feel like part of one family, tactile enough to justify the shelf price and clean enough to keep the focus on the frames themselves.
Then we took it into the room. Sorted laid out the retail interior so the brand and the browsing experience matched: considered sightlines, honest materials, and display that lets people try, compare, and commit without feeling rushed.
The result is one coherent world, from the logo to the lens cloth to the wall people walk past: a reading glasses range that finally looks the part.
Reading glasses, worth a second look.
