Hoerikwaggo.
Hoerikwaggo is a critical zone initiative centred on the Cape Flats Aquifer in Cape Town.
The brief.
This collaborative platform brings together scientists, engineers, artists and local communities to protect and regenerate one of the city’s most underutilised natural water resources. The project merges adaptive water management with transformative arts practices to restore ecosystems, elevate public awareness and build resilience from the ground up.
Sorted Design International worked closely with Umvoto Africa and the Site_Specific Land and Nature Art Collective to produce a publication that weaves together science, storytelling, community vision and environmental design. The result is both a strategy document and an artistic artefact, designed to inform, inspire and invite participation.
